Postgraduate, international experience

After qualifying as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2008, I was selected to complete three international Fellowships in prestigious teaching hospitals performing high volumes of complex shoulder, elbow, and wrist operations.

Twelve years of intensive clinical practice combined with teaching and research have developed my skills and knowledge in current surgical and non-surgical treatments for damaged upper limbs.

The East Melbourne Orthopaedic & Sports Injury Clinic (EMOS) approach

Many musculoskeletal injuries and conditions respond well to "conservative" care. If there's a strong possibility we can repair your damaged limb without surgery, that's what I'll recommend. Where surgery is essential, I will support you every step of the way, from preparing for your procedure to making a solid recovery.

Surgical specialties

I perform arthroscopic (keyhole) and open surgery on shoulder, elbow, and wrist damage caused by traumatic events, sporting injuries, or degenerative conditions like arthritis.

When I'm not taking care of patients in consults or the operating theatre, you'll find me enjoying time with my family. I'm also a keen mountain biker and scuba diver.

Kerry

Practice Manager

Kerry has been keeping Melbourne medical practices in impeccable shape for over two decades. She's known Ash since forever, and she's managed East Melbourne Orthopaedic & Sports Injury Clinic since 2018. Kerry is too modest and too busy to write her own profile, so we've done it for her.

Our practice runs like clockwork due to Kerry's legendary organising ability. She's across all things administrative and never misses a beat.

Kerry's empathy and kindness play a big part in making our practice a calm, welcoming environment. Besides being super-efficient, Kerry is lovely to everyone who comes through our door.

Kerry will tell you she's a doer, not a talker, and she probably won't be keen on this profile. But we think it's spot on.

Ash, Sara, Wan, Veronica and Nicole

Veronica

Medical Secretary

Veronica is the smiley, skilful front-of-house face of East Melbourne Orthopaedic & Sports Injury Clinic and the perfect first point of contact for our patients. She's kind, calm, caring, and always goes the extra mile.

Before we snapped her up in 2016, Veronica was front of house in various health sector roles. She's a super experienced medical secretary, and (except for writing this profile), there's nothing our versatile, quiet achieving Veronica can't get sorted.

Veronica is an ace, and while this profile's bound to make her blush a bit, we're not changing a thing.

Nicole

Medical Secretary

Nicole is our new kid on the block joining our team in 2024. Nicole will be your first point of contact with us, and she is lovely - a genuinely attentive listener who puts everyone at ease.

Nicole has many years of experience in the health sector and is super friendly.

We will update her profile in a little while once she settles in.
